SELF-HELP GROUPS ACROSS KANSAS
Our database contains over 1,800 local self-help groups and 1,000 national self-help organizations that cover a broad range of topics. These topics include addictions, parenting, grief, physical illness, mental illness, disabilities, caregiving, and more.
You can search our database by county and group type. If you are having difficulty locating a group in your area, feel free to search our listing of national organizations. Many of these national organizations offer phone support and materials.
Online Helpbase
Searches are easy, free, and accessible 24 hours a day. Self-help groups listed in the directory and on the online database are characterized as “mutual support” groups, are either ongoing or repeated (vs. time limited), and offered either free or at a minimal cost. Self-help groups focus on a common concern or situation and generally help promote the development, facilitation, and continuation of self-help groups. Click to search
Note: The listing of an organization or group by CCSR does not imply endorsement of purpose or quality; groups not listed do not signify disapproval.

Partnership
This database has been made available through cooperation from Kansas Health Solutions, Wichita State University’s Center for Community Support and Research, and the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services. Future efforts will include training and support for Medicaid providers who want to help self-help groups, as well as assistance in starting and maintaining self-help groups.
